Cambodia Action for Policy on Smoking and Health (CAPSH)

Project Goal

To reduce the health and economic impact of tobacco use in Cambodia by reducing uptake of tobacco use and increase cessation through providing opportunistic support of the FCTC, National TC Policy, Law and Enforcement.

Activities:

Conduct advocacy with policy makers for effective TC law and policy.

Conduct awareness raising about current approved Tobacco Control law and policy.

Ensure support of compliance of approved tobacco control law and policy.

Outcomes:

Increased effectiveness and coordination of all tobacco control strategies and programs by all current and future TC partners.

Increase in the awareness and support for effective TC law and regulation by key policy and law makers and enforcement agencies.

Key government departments are effectively drafting and proposing new law and regulation to legislative and regulatory authorities.

Increased public lobbying and influence is being made with law makers positively influencing their decisions to ratify effective tobacco control regulation.

The general public and key government institutions have an increased knowledge and understanding about approved tobacco control law and regulation.

Increased locations are effectively promoting Smoke Free policies according to national and localized regulation.

Increased collaborative efforts with Non Government Organizations and partners involved in tobacco control in both active and passive ways are empowered to carry out their programs including ADRA Cambodia and its local and regional networks.

Increased capacity and action by both government and the private sector to comply with ratified tobacco control policy and law.
