The National Center for Health Promotion and the University of Health Sciences organized awareness program on Tobacco Affect and also declared the University to be a Smoke Free Zone.
Under support from the World Health Organization the celebration was held on 21 April 2005, aiming at providing medical, dentistry and pharmacy students the awareness on life and health affect of cigarette smoking as well as tobacco uses so that in the future they can advise their patient not to smoke or to quit smoking for good health...etc.
Health education conducted by doctors to their patients is the most effective means of all, therefore, it is very important that doctors themselves must keep good behavior starting from smoke free life, said Dr. Lim Thai Pheang, Director of National Center for Health Promotion.
